Offshore Rising: Catching the Wave of Offshore Services
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
Offshore Rising presents a CEO-level perspective on the opportunities and threats inherent in offshore services to existing operating models. Beginning with a review of the characteristics of organizations that will alternately see them prosper or suffer in this new paradigm, it explores the spreading impact of compression of service deliver time, commoditization of service offerings and standardization of work processes among other areas that are occurring as globalized service practices become the norm. It offers suggestions on how to begin the journey offshore and ample reference points from IT services and IT-enabled services including call centers and business process outsourcing (BPO) as to the breadth, depth and speed at which the transition is occurring. Using concise, accessible language, Offshore Rising delivers a compelling perspective for business innovators seeking to understand how they can ride the wave of offshore services, avoid the undertow and possibly achieve market leadership with a globalized operating model.
