About the Author
Kathy Morris is an attorney and Director of both the ABA Career Resource Center and companion Center for CLE. She has focused her career on enhancing the legal profession, as well as the performance of individual attorneys and firms. Ms. Morris also authors a long-running monthly column in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, "Career Question" (1992-present), is the author of the October, 2000 career manual entitled Objection Overruled. . . Overcoming Obstacles in the Lawyer Job Search, and hosts a weekly online career question-and-answer forum, "Tuesdays with Morris," on the ABA Career Counsel website. She founded Under Advisement, Ltd., concentrating in career counseling for attorneys and law students in 1988, after practicing law and serving as the Director of Placement at Northwestern University School of Law.

Jill Eckert, J.D./M.B.A., is the Legal Career Specialist of the ABA Career Resource Center. She provides job search and career-enhancing advice to lawyers and law students by conducting initiatives and outreach, creating legal career publications and presentations on and off the web. She has been a guest speaker for law students, explaining how to overcome obstacles in the job search process, as well as for bar association members, discussing career changes and burnout. Ms. Eckert also maintains the ABA's Career Counsel website, accessible via the ABA homepage, which offers monthly career content and daily tips.
