Editorial Reviews
Shaun Mills, University of Central Lancashire.
The first edition of this book was always a favourite with students and I am confident that students will continue to value the up-dated version of this EXCELLENT book.
Book Description
The purpose of this book is to provide students with a clear guide to the main constitutional, institutional and substantive features of EC law. The author considers the nature and effect of Community law, aspects of Community economic and social law as well as remedies and enforcement. Appropriate materials from a wide variety of sources are used throughout to set the law in its political, economic and social context. Attention has focused on such issues of importance as the completion of the internal market, rights and remedies for individuals and changes brought about by the Maastricht Treaty. Since publication of the first edition in 1993, the development of Community law has continued apace. In particular, the ramifications of the Courts Francovich decision on State liability can now be seen in a clearer light. The second edition contains a new postscript on the latest developments in State liability.
