About the Author
Edwin A. Locke is Dean's Professor of Motivation and Leadership at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and is also affiliated with the Department of Psychology. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Harvard and his MA and Ph.D. degrees from Cornell. He has published over 200 articles, chapters and books, including (with G. Latham) A Theory of Goal Setting and Task Performance, (with others) The Essence of Leadership, and Prime Movers: The Traits of the Great Wealth Creators. Dr. Locke has received the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology and the H. Heneman Career Contribution Award from the Academy of Management (Human Resource Division). He has also received the Outstanding Teacher-Scholar Award from the University of Maryland and numerous teaching awards. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.
