Determinants of Executive Compensation

Editorial Reviews
Book Description
This book is a thorough study of what determines executive compensation levels, challenging prior research which tended to focus solely on the influence of corporate financial performance. Pavlik and Belkaoui argue that structural characteristics of the firm--size, internal organization, and ownership--are equally decisive in influencing the level and structure of executive compensation. The authors develop and test a model of executive compensation which allows for the investigation of both the direct and indirect effects of each of these factors on executive compensation.
