Book Description
The book covers the basics of contract administration, disciplinary handling, strategic grievance handling, and the arbitration process. This unique program not only discusses the mechanics of contract administration, but also stresses the importance of managing the workforce over and above the collective bargaining agreement. As a result of this program, participants will be able to:
• Exercise management's rights in order to meet operational objectives
• Interpret contract provisions with increased confidence
• Settle grievances at the first and second step through greater understanding of the labor agreement
• Identify and eliminate costly or restrictive past practices.
The book also contains a self-paced Power Point computer program used as a one-on-one training tool where the learner interacts with a CD and the 56 page learning book. The learner plays the CD and completes a series of "filling in the blanks" exercises. In addition there are both pre and post tests and a final exam score that is reported by email for completion certification for 2.0 hours of CEU's.
