About the Author
Roy C. Herrenkohl is a Distinguished University Service Professor of Sociology, Anthropology and Education in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology and Center for Social Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from NYU; attended Union Theological Seminary, attended University of Reading, England studying philosophy and Sociology on a Rotary Foundation Fellowship, and received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University.

In addition to his current position as Distinguished University Service Professor in the department of Sociology and Anthropology, he served as Vice Provost for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies at Lehigh University, 1990-1996.

His current research activities include research on teamwork and employee empowerment; research on family dynamics and child-rearing practices in a longitudinal study of maltreated and non-maltreated children; and program evaluation research assessing the impact of educational, social and industrial training activities.

He is a licensed Psychologist and is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Psychological society, and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
