About the Author
Jim Makula's varied professional background began with 10 years in sales and marketing at the Hyatt and Sheraton hotel chains. With a move to Asia in 1988, Mikula headed up sales and marketing for the Regent and Four Seasons hotels. After investing extraordinary efforts serving as director of marketing in those venues, by 1996 Mikula became the regional director of filed marketing and then area director of marketing in India. He set up regional sales offices and reservations systems in all areas, and designed and developed an overall sales and marketing strategy for India, including worldwide public relations and advertising.
Throughout his career, Mikula has been recognized for his affable way with people and his excellent leadership skills. His success is traceable to his natural adaptability and creativity in new situations. He has a personal commitment to lifelong learning that expresses itself through curiosity and an instinct to challenge assumptions, explore innovation, and search for possibilities. With Customer Contact Corporation (C3) since 1999, he brings solid corporate experience and cutting edge knowledge to C3's clients. Community service is also important to Mikula, and his efforts have included managing the protocols for Pope John Paul II's 1987 visit to Miami, chairing four major cancer-research fundraising runs, and lecturing at colleges and universities worldwide.
