Jay Zhong studied with the noted pedagogue Raphael Bronstein, and the celebrated violinist Elmar Oliveira. His talent was recognized at age 14 by violin legend Nathan Milstein, and subsequently encouraged by concert impresario Harold Shaw.
An accomplished teacher, Jay Zhong has held violin professorship at the Western Illinois University, taught master-class in China, the United States, South America, and currently he is holding the Violin Professor/Head of Strings position at California State University, Los Angeles. His compositions have been heard internationally and are well received by audience and musicians alike.
