This book is a compilation of excerpts from current (2004) annual reports, financial statements, and notes to financial statements. The purpose is to give students the opportunity to work with real reports from a variety of companies, both large and small, well-known and not so well-known. The students will see how these reports and statements use different terminology, different layouts, and different ways to present data. The book is organized topically, with such topics as income, balance sheets, inventories, etc excerpted from different annual reports and financial statements.

About the Author
Steven D. Grossman, Associate Professor of Accounting at Texas A&M<br> University, teaches in the area of financial accounting and analysis. He<br> has written articles that have appeared in such journals as The<br> Accounting Review, The Journal of Accountancy, Journal of Accounting,<br> Auditing & Finance, and Financial Executive. In addition, he has<br> published several books on accounting. He holds B.S. and M.A. degrees<br> from Northeastern University and a PhD from Tufts University.
