With the relaxation of capital controls in a large number of developed and developing countries and the globalization of capital markets, economies of emerging markets have attracted a great deal of attention. The objective of this book is to better understand the economic characteristics and shortcomings of emerging markets and provide a discussion of some of the policies which may have to be adopted in conjunction with financial reforms in developing countries in order to reduce the risk of another financial crisis.
